October Chapter Meeting

October 5 @ 6:30 pm

Down on the Blue – A film, created by Barbara L. Davis. Tucked away in east central Arizona, 26 miles south of Alpine and 3,000 feet lower in elevation, the last designated “Primitive Area” in the United States is relatively unknown. The riparian stream is a corridor for migrating birds and houses a diversity of lower elevational plants and animals.  The rare Common Black Hawk nests here and the elusive Montezuma Quail call it home. Narrow-leafed and Fremont Cottonwood trees provide food and shelter for summer and migrating birds including a variety of warblers. Bighorn sheep, javalinas, Mule and Coues deer, and a bounty of beavers are some of the wildlife inhabiting the area
